But while this address is assigned to the connection we use, the services and peers we communicate with on the Internet also have addresses. There are approximately 3.7 billion addresses available for ordinary Internet connections, and about 1.6 billion people used the Internet in 2009. So, very roughly, each user requires a little over two unique addresses.
